The Mind of a Christian Athlete

The Mind of a Christian Athlete is a win/build study that examines the connections of sports psychology and the Christian life. Throughout this study you will explore different topics such as fear, motivation, confidence, etc., in relation to your sport and your faith.

UNIT I - IN THE MOMENT

The secret to loving perfectly is to be in the moment. We can’t love 10 minutes ago, nor can we love 10 minutes from now at this time. We can only love now, in the moment.

UNIT II - ANXIETY

Just like in competition, our anxiety is intimately connected to insecurity and fear, which can usually boil down to a lack of trust.

UNIT III - FEAR

We often find our worth in our achievements. This is a leading cause of our fear of failure. Who we are is not defined or measured by our success or failure.

UNIT IV - ATTITUDE

Take a moment and think this one through. In what areas of our life do we have a “growth” or “fixed” mindset?

UNIT V - EMOTIONS

If we don’t learn to control our emotions, our emotions will control us.

UNIT VI - CONFIDENCE

Confidence comes from practice and preparation. In practice, we have the opportunity to train our minds as well as our bodies.

UNIT VII - MOTIVATION

This chapter of the study was written to help us navigate the real desires we have for authentic and life-giving relationships and the struggles we face to get there.
