THE CRUX

The Crux is an introductory Bible study that leads your group through the kerygma, the basic proclamation of the Gospel, and culminates in an invitation to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are still working to improve this study. Please give us your feedback here.

CHAPTER 1: WHO AM I?

Who am I? What am I made for? These are some of the most important questions we face in life. And there’s one famous story that points us in the right direction. It’s a story you might have heard before, perhaps from your childhood.

CHAPTER 2: WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

Who do you say that I am? That’s the question Jesus posed to his disciples some 2,000 years ago. And it’s a question he asks each of us today. Who do you say that Jesus is?

CHAPTER 3: THE CROSS

The average Christian has heard the basic idea that “Jesus died on the cross for our sins.” But do they understand what it really means and what it’s all about? The Cross is at the very center of the Christian faith, and yet few Christians can adequately articulate this most foundational belief.

CHAPTER 4: THE COVENANT FAMILY OF GOD

Covenant is one of the most important concepts in the Bible. It serves as a central theme which unites the whole story of God’s plan of salvation, for it describes the profound union God establishes with his people. God doesn’t just have a general friendship with his people; he has a covenant union with them.

CHAPTER 5: THE PRODIGAL SON

We will turn to a famous story Jesus told; but we will look at it with new eyes, the eyes of a first-century Jew hearing this story for the very first time. The story is known as the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
